Larry and Gavin love to play together. one of these days i will get it on video and share. it usually consists of larry "hiding" and pouncing on Gavin, and Gavin running back and forth getting all excited. Sometimes Gavin will pick up a toy and squeak it at Larry which is pretty funny cause obviously Larry couldn't care less about a dog toy. Sometimes when Gavin is sleeping Larry will decide he wants to play and go up to Gavin and bat at Gavin's paws and nip at them, to which Gavin barks at Larry to leave him alone.
When we first got Gavin, Larry was afraid of him for about the first week. The next week Larry began to elicit play to Gavin and Gavin would play, but as soon as Gavin would get too close to Larry, he would hiss and run away leaving Gavin to wonder what he did wrong. Then Larry began starting to trust Gavin and let him get closer and the first time Gavin mouthed Larry, he hissed and ran away. This lasted about another week and then Larry totally trusted Gavin and now they both play mouth/bite each other and it's really cute. they are both so gentle with each other-even when Larry paws at Gavin his claws are in. I'm very grateful to have pets that have been properly socialized when they were younger so that they know how to play gentle with everyone :)
me thinks it a sign of good parenting...
